Remember our last post where we said we were making room for another in the tent? Now it’s time to tell you who!

Team Averica is excited to announce Leslie Lupien as the newest member of the team for the 2017/18 cyclocross season! If you have met or ridden with Leslie before, you already know that she is dedicated, hardworking, genuine, and always has a positive outlook – all qualities that we welcome and promote here on Team Averica.

Leslie raced a full cyclocross season last year, capping the season off at the USAC National Championship in Hartford. Leslie is heading into this cross season with an impressive list of results from the road, including local wins at Harvard Road Race and the Nutmeg Classic, as well as number of podium finishes at the Intelligentsia Cup in Chicago. Steamrolling this fitness and passion into the cyclocross season, we are excited to race alongside Leslie this coming year and support her growth as a racer.

Leslie is also known for her commitment to development. She has been giving back to the NECX (and New England Road) community for years by hosting clinics and acting as a mentor to new racers. She has also worked in this capacity through the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC), where she and many other New England cyclists began their cycling careers. Off the bike, Leslie is as impressive as she is on the bike and she is currently wrapping up her PhD at Dartmouth, where she focuses on cancer research.

Be sure to look out for Leslie on Twitter and Instagram and the rest of the Team Averican’s this fall, kicking off the season at Rochester Cyclocross at Genessee Valley Park on September 8th and 9th!
